This research, led by Robert Nurick and supported by the People’s Resource Conservation Foundation (PRCF), explores how lakeside communities in Ba Be National Park, Vietnam, are experiencing and adapting to climate change. Drawing on local voices and knowledge, the study highlights how environmental changes—such as floods, droughts, and deforestation—affect rural livelihoods, biodiversity, and community wellbeing. It also documents traditional weather indicators used by local people to monitor and predict climate shifts. The findings call for inclusive, community-based adaptation strategies that combine scientific and local knowledge to promote sustainable livelihoods and conservation.
